Which
is the second biggest city in Sweden with its half a million inhabitants is
often compared to San Franscisco. Here you will find plenty of bridges,
hills, water, trams and fish restaurants.
You will never have to walk far to find amusement, nature and things worth
seeing.
You can visit ‘Röhsska Muséet’, the
only museum dedicated to arts and crafts and design in the whole of Sweden,
right in the centre of the town. If nature is your interest then ‘Universeum’,
the Swedish National Centre of Science, is close to where the games will be
held. Here you will find birds, fishes, snakes, sharks and the yellow
venomous frog, the most toxic creature of the world.
‘Liseberg’, the biggest amusement
park in Scandinavia, opened its gates for the first time
in
1923 and in the year 2000 it was time for the inauguration of its
oldfashioned Christmas Market. 4,379,832 lights covering trees and buildings
etc help to brighten up the winter darkness. ‘Fiskekôrka’ (The Church of
Fish, because of the shape of the building) is a must if you are interested
in fish. There you will find everything the sea can offer. There is also a
coffee shop and a restaurant. There is a great variety of hotels.
